JUDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Each team must provide two volunteer judges for every tournament in which they participate. Coaches cannot act as a judges.
• All judges will receive official training conducted by SoCal Odyssey of the Mind (SoCal OotM). Once trained, a judge cannot be substituted with someone who has not completed training.
• All judges and volunteers must be at least 18 years old by the date of the tournament.
• All Judges are required to attend the mandatory virtual training session scheduled for February 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
• Judges must officiate at their team’s Qualifying Tournament. If their team advances, judges are also required to judge at the State Tournament.
• Judging is generally an all-day responsibility during Tournament Days. Judges should plan to be present for the entire duration of the event.
• Judges will not be able to watch the performance of the team they are representing.
• All judges must be entered into the national Odyssey of the Mind database before the tournament registration deadline, which is January 16, 2026.

Failure to supply the required volunteer judges will result in the team not being eligible for advancement.
